About ajira darch photography

Hi! Ajira here!! Thanks for stopping by!

Here is where I share thoughts and images from my daily life, adventures as a parent to my beautiful son and of course, from photographing the lovely families that are my wonderful clients!

Bibi (my grandmother) must have known somehow. That giving me a name meaning journey would be apt. Corny as it may be, I do believe that life is a journey and we are better off (and much nicer to be around) enjoying the ride! See you on the road!

I love it when I see something so beautiful I have to stop and blink at it in a daze.

Let me show you what I see when I look at you.

Four kids, one fence

Saturday, January 15th, 2011

While we were down in Southern California over the holidays, I was thrilled to visit past wedding clients and photograph their kids again. I love these four little people. They amaze me every time I see them with how much they’ve grown! I love that they’re so supportive of each other and yet they’re all SO different. It’s fabulous.

First up, we have the youngest- Isaac. Cameron and I were convinced for years that Isaac was going to be a farmer. He was always so comfortable on his own in a corner of the garden. Now we’re thinking he’s more likely to be a surfer!! LOL. He’s such a sweet child, and his face is so beautific it’s hard to believe that any mischief lies behind it. Don’t let it fool you though! He certainly holds his own!

Next up, we have Ms. Sofia- poised, confident, curious and friendly. She told me once that she wanted to be a plumber and it made complete sense. She’s always seemed to love learning how things work. Isn’t she gorgeous?

The two oldest are very close in age, physical ability and some aspects of their temperament. And yet, on the surface, they couldn’t seem more different. Especially now that they’re just on the cusp of entering their teenage years! Their parents are really excited about that. LOL!!

Here’s Joseph, he’s a barrel of laughs, thoughtful and responsible. He’s wanted to be a firefighter since the first time I met him and I have a feeling he’s going to make it happen.

And last, but definitely not least, here’s Audrey. She told me on this visit that she wants to be a doctor and is already thinking about attending camps geared towards kids with those aspirations. I love that. She’s determined and purposeful and caring… all qualities suited for a healer!

Getting to know families and watching their kids grow is one of the best parts of my job. Hands down. It is seriously awesome watching these little beings grow and learn and become more and more of the adult they will eventually be. What a thrill and honour it is to cross paths with them and document a little piece of their life story!!

**p.s. The Playdate sessions are not limited to babies and toddlers. Any children and parents can participate. They’d also be great for mama&me sessions! Or daddy&me!**
